Corey “Super Shoe” LaJoie is getting his UARA late model ready for the 2008 season. Corey is graduating from the Pro Challenge series where he dominated at every event he unloaded the LaJoie Scrap Metal, Team Onion, Harris Trucking, Joie Of Seating # 7-11 Monte Carlo.
In 2007, he competed in 12 events, claiming an amazing 9 wins & 10 Top 3 finishes. Looking back at his 2007 season Corey talked about his accomplishments and his goals for 2008. “We had a great race car last year and my crew chief, Shane Brafford, always had the car prepared and ready to go which made my job a little easier. However, having my Dad helping me is the biggest advantage that I have. He’s a 2 time Busch Grand National Series Champion, has won a ton of races and has really helped me with my line, being smooth in the race car and not to beat myself. Randy's involvement has been a key factor in the success Corey has had so far in his young driving career.
LaJoie would go on “The pro challenge thing was a good learning experience but to challenge myself as a driver to get better we felt it was necessary to move up a series to compete with drivers that have more experience and also running on different tracks will do nothing but help me”.
As for the 2008 season LaJoie is working with “my Dad to run a limited late model schedule which I’m excited about. I just want to learn as much as I can about these cars and get as much seat time as I can get. Dad has always told me you can’t learn anything sitting in the pits with a wrecked race car." If his past success is any indication, Corey will be up to speed in a short time with any car he straps into.
